The Beyond Tunis publication series is a unique intellectual adventure launched by Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP) to highlight efforts to advance the use and application of Knowledge and ICT for Development after the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunis in 2005.

Its first two editions, popularly known as Flightplan 1.0 and Flightplan 1.5, collated inputs from more than 40 authors - practitioners and thinkers from across the globe. Their much valued and talked about ideas continue to set the thematic parameters of current professional discourse in advancing Knowledge and ICT for Development.

The journey that ICT4D stakeholders started after departing Tunis approached its first global milestone with the GKP Event on the Future, Third Global Knowledge Conference, GK3. In Tunis, charting of the Future had begun, at GK3 we look at shaping it.

GK3 gave us an opportunity to assess the ICT4D landscape since 2005. GK3 proved to be a timely review of what promises we have managed to achieve and what expectations remained unfulfilled. More importantly, it also allowed us to set a fresh direction and proceed towards new horizons.

At this juncture, we proudly present Beyond Tunis 2.0: Horizon, the critical companion to GK3, GKP Event on the Future.
