COMMUNIQUE FROM GKPS

CSDMS takes a great pleasure to announce that it has been entrusted to host the GKP Secretariat with effect from 1 May 2010 till 30 April 2011. As a GKP Secretariat, we have got a new dedicated team to provide the administrative support to the activities of GKP.

GKPS is very excited to host this service and do look forward to reinvigorating the Network

The highlights of the key activities of the new GKPS in its first one-month are:

1) Release of GKP 3.0 Strategic Framework

GKP 3.0 Strategic Framework on being approved by the GKP Executive Committee (EXCOMM) is now released and uploaded on the GKP portal at:  http://www.globalknowledgepartnership.org/gkp/index.cfm/pageid/835
This Strategic Framework outlines the roadmap for the Global Knowledge Partnership for years beyond 2010.

2) Announcement of the Innovation Incubation Grant as one of the programmatic activities of the new Strategic Framework of GKP 3.0

Adhering to the Strategic Framework of GKP 3.0, GKP Secretariat has announced the Call for “Innovation Incubation Grant” (IIG) from the GKP Members on May 20, 2010. The deadline for the submission of application is June 10, 2010. For more details, please click at:

The IIG is a region specific small seed grant to support ICT enabled innovative initiative/ idea and aims to encourage and support ICT & Knowledge Management for Development innovation efforts of the Members of GKP network.

3) Appointment of the new GKPS team to support the administration of GKP

A new dedicated team has been appointed at the GKP Secretariat (GKPS) to provide operational and administrative support to the activities of GKP as a global network. The GKPS team comprises of five members, namely an Executive Director, a Senior Programme Officer, two Coordinators and an Administrative Assistant based at New Delhi, India. The service of the GKPS is effective from 1 May 2010 till 30 June 2011.
