JOIN THE AGRIBUSINESS FORUM 2010 AND WIN US$15,000

Project Incubator Award

To encourage development, innovation and entrepreneurship in the agro-food sector in Africa, the "EMRC-Rabobank Project Incubator Award" will be presented to the project with the greatest economic and social impact on local communities during the Gala Evening on the 4th of October.  If you have a project related to rural development, agriculture, agro-food, livestock or microfinance, we urge you to send it to us and to apply for the Project Incubator Award. Your chances to win are big, but more so, you will meet interested investors and partners.

Project Incubator Guidelines

1. Who can apply?
  • Participants attending the AgriBusiness Forum 2010
  • People with projects to be implemented in Africa and in partnership with at least one African
  • People with projects that support farmer cooperatives or encourage their creation
  • People with projects that contribute to the development of the African communities
  • People with good communication skills

2. Selection Process
  • Submit application documents with your contact details to: cg@emrc.be or fax +32.2626.1516 by the 1st September, 2010. After the pre-selection process, the committee will announce the names and projects of the finalists who will be notified accordingly.
  • The finalists will present their projects during a special plenary session on Monday 4th of October 2010.
  • The winner will be awarded US$ 15,000 during the Gala Evening of the AgriBusiness Forum 2010

History
EMRC initiated the Project Incubator Award at the AgriBusiness Forum held in Rome in the spring of 2008.  At the Africa Finance & Investment Forum held in Paris at the end of 2008, a US$10,000 prize was awarded to MUPECI, a Cameroonian microfinance institution for its Soya project.  At the AgriBusiness Forum 2009 held in Cape Town, the prize was increased to US$ 15,000 and the winner was the Cooperative of Sepingo (COOGES) of Cote d’Ivoire for their cashew nuts project.  The winner of the Project Incubator Award at the Africa Finance & Investment Forum 2009 was Derekorp Ltd. of Uganda.

We invite you to join our AgriBusiness Forum 2010 and actively contribute to the full integration of the African continent in the world economy as a true key player, by introducing a project to the committee. We look forward to finding out about your projects and taking part in the role they play in the sustainable development of Africa.
